  • As with any city its size, petty crime occurs in Rio. Beware of pickpockets and avoid bringing valuables or wearing expensive jewelry outside.
  • The Pantanal is one of the world’s largest tropical wetland areas and is an ideal spot for bird watching and photography. It is possible to see hyacinth macaws, toco toucans,  jabiru storks, otters, tapirs, giant anteaters, black howler monkeys jaguars, ocelots and jaguarondis, to name a few.

  • The Iguazu Falls are the world’s largest waterfalls. They extend over 2,700 m (nearly 2 miles) in a semi-circular shape.  Of the 275 falls that collectively make up Iguazu Falls, “Devil’s Throat” is the tallest at 80 m in height.
  • Iguazu Falls are surrounded by two National Parks that are home to hundreds of rare and endangered species of flora and fauna and have been declared National Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

Day 1: Arrive into Rio

Today you will arrive into the “marvelous city” of Rio de Janeiro. Upon arrival in Rio you will be greeted at the airport and taken to your hotel in Copacabana.  

Day 2: Private full day Rio city tour – Corcovado and Sugar Loaf

This morning you’ll be picked up from your hotel to visit the most famous landmarks of Rio and see the beauty of the city from above. After a pleasant drive along Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, you’ll visit one of the 7 New Wonders of the World – Christ the Redeemer – where you’ll be able to enjoy panoramic views of the Marvelous City. Lunch will be served at a churrascaria to enjoy some traditional Brazilian barbecue. Afterwards, our visit will continue through Guanabara Bay, where we’ll take a glass cable-car to the top of Urca Hill for a panoramic view of the surrounding islands. A second cable-car will take you to the top of Sugar Loaf, the world famous ‘Pão de Açúcar’, which has become an iconic symbol of Rio de Janeiro. It rises 395 meters above sea level and offers a 360-degree view of the entire city including Botafogo and Copacabana Beaches, Corcovado Mountain and downtown Rio.

Day 3: Half day Group Jeep Tour Botanic Garden and Tijuca Forest

Today we’ll discover the natural wonders of Rio de Janeiro and visit two of the most beautiful places in the city. First we will head to the Botanic Garden, which is home to a variety of rare and exotic plants species imported from all over the world. In its famous greenhouse, more than 500 species of delicate orchids are carefully tended to. We will then explore Tijuca Forest, the largest urban forest in the world. We’ll finish the day at Pepino Beach to watch Rio’s hang gliders in action.

Day 4: Fly from Rio de Janeiro to Campo Grande.

Today, you’ll be picked up at your hotel and taken to the airport for your flight to Campo Grande, where you’ll start your 5d/4n Pantanal Program. Upon arrival in Campo Grande you’ll be met at the airport and taken on a private 6-hour transfer to your lodge in Pantanal.

Days 5-8: Pantanal Program

At the Lodge, you’ll have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of tours and activities, such as hiking, photo safaris in a 4X4 vehicle, fishing, horseback riding, safari boat trips and more. Your days at the lodge will start very early in the morning, with walking tours or boat tours and wildlife observation. Exact times and available programs will be provided to you upon check-in.

Day 8: Depart Pantanal. Fly from Campo Grande to Foz do Iguacu.

After breakfast, you’ll depart the lodge and travel back to Campo Grande, where you will be taken to the airport for your flight to Foz do Iguacu. Upon arrival at the airport in Iguacu, you’ll be met and taken to your hotel in Puerto Iguazu, on the Argentinean side of the falls. After checking in, you’ll have the day at your leisure to relax at the hotel.

NOTE: A 30-minute flight from your lodge in Pantanal to Campo Grande is available on a private Cessna plane. Ask for details if interested.

Day 9: Private tour of Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls.

Today we will cross the Tancredo Neves Bridge, driving through the lush, subtropical vegetation of the Iguaçu National Park in Brazil en route to the falls. At the park, you will be able to trek down to the canyon for panoramic views of more than 240 falls. We will also take your up the cliff on a glass elevator for an unbeatable view from the upper deck. We’ll wrap up the day taking you back to your hotel.

Day 10: Tour of Argentinean side of Iguazu Falls.

Today you will tour the Argentinean side of Iguazu. We will take you across the suspended platform hovering on the edge of the Garganta do Diabo (Devil’s Throat) Waterfall – the largest in the park. Your adventure will continue on a 4×4 safari through the jungle and a Gran Aventure boat ride under the falls.

Day 11: Fly Foz do Iguacu to Rio de Janeiro

This afternoon you’ll be transferred to the airport in Foz do Iguacu to connect with your flight to Rio de Janeiro. Upon arrival in Rio, you’ll be met at the airport and taken to your hotel, where you’ll have the evening at your leisure.

Day 12: Leisure Day in Rio de Janeiro

Today you will be at your leisure. You may choose to return to one of the places that you previously visited during your city tour or just relax on the beach near your hotel. Ask us for recommendations of things to do during your free day in Rio.

Day 13: Depart Rio and fly home

It’s time to say goodbye to Brazil! Today you will be met at your hotel and transferred to the airport in Rio in order to fly home.
