Good to Know:

  • The Iguazu Falls are the world’s largest waterfalls. They extend over 2,700 m (nearly 2 miles) in a semi-circular shape.  Of the 275 falls that collectively make up Iguazu Falls, “Devil’s Throat” is the tallest at 80 m in height.
  • The Iguazu Falls are located within two National Parks that are home to hundreds of rare and endangered species of flora and fauna and have been declared National Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

  • Parque Nacional Iguazú (the Argentinean national park) is open every day between 8am and 6pm. Ticket sales and access to the park close after 4:30pm.
  • A visit through the Argentinean side of the falls is a full-day activity with walking trails, viewpoints and plenty of activities to explore the area. The Brazilian side will take you at least a half-day to explore.

  • Parque Nacional do Iguaçu (the Brazilian national park) is open every day between 9am and 5pm.
  • You can visit the parks year-round. December through February is the rainy season, when the falls are at their peak in terms of volume and the hot temperatures make the boat ride under the falls a refreshing activity. Some trails and activities may close due to heavy rainfall. For blue skies (but lower water levels) with mild temperatures, visit between April and June.

Day 1: Fly to Foz do Iguaçu.

Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be met and taken to your hotel. You may choose to stay on the Argentinian or Brazilian side of the falls. After checking in, you will have the day at your leisure to relax at the hotel.
